papaya given....papaya taken

This is a colombian expression to say that you allowed other ppl to do something you don't want to. And It was!

My camera was stolen in Buenos Aires! :( Yeap!
My camera and some money that I had to buy souvenirs and all stuff.

Why did I give papaya? because, I left my camera over a table during 3 seconds in a bar. 3 seconds when I should not do it and someone was carried it. You see!

I felt so secure days before and also I was really happy with all the amazing things I have discovered during my journey through South America. Well! unfortunately, don't give papaya! is also part of the common factor of our countries.

You know me and my camera was a fundamental part of this journey. Any ways, the AIESEC ppl has borrowed me theirs in order I can keep the record of this adventure.

Whatever... -a lo hecho pecho! as my dad says.. No complains and the life continues! :)

this little machine makes me crazy!

I have had weekly just a couple of minutes to talk to my family, while I'm abroad.

Just a minutes (seconds?) to ask them, how are you doing?
How is the work, study, family, business, heart, health, mood, life.... going so far?

A little time to say again: I'm fine, I've had great times.. I'm alive!

But the most important, to say them: I love you... I miss you and I'm thinking about you all the time, although I cannot call you everytime I would like...

...cause this little machine transforms my time in money... a lot of money!

Bolivia and Chile

This month travelling around South America has made me think about our reality as latin americans.

The differences between Bolivia (the cheapest and also poorest country in South America) and Chile (the most expensive one) are so huge!... their people, their infraestructure, their food, their cities, their education level, their general opportunities.

Chile looks like an european city. The public transportation is amazing, so well organized!

In Bolivia, you can feel the need of oportunities to study and also to work the people are asking for.

Chile is so quite!. Nobody shout up, nobody looks like hurry-up. People feel proud to be in Chile, they love their country.

Bolivia is so crowded. There are many people from different cities. There are a lot, still on the streets, peasants -"cholitos"- and they are proud to keep high the bolivian culture: their music, their traditions, their food. "The genuineness still is alive".

In Bolivia, the food is the most important thing. If you are eating well, the rest doesn't matter. In Chile, you're ok with a Hot Dog or a Sandwich!

It is amazing how you can switch, in just 2 hours by plane, the mood and the way you see the life.

The only things have not changed are:

1. The Andes Mountain chain, which has been with me in my journey.
2. The waste of the AIESEC's potential to support the development of Latin America.

L.A. needs even more AIESEC... but doing 100% AIESEC!
