in Turkey!

I'm alive, here reporting from Turkey!. This country is amazing, I'm exactly between Asia and Europe.. it is incredible that just crossing a bridge you're in another continent!!. It reminds me that chapter of The Simpsons when Homero is jumping from the US to Canada!. :)

Well, SSGN pre meeting already finished! was incredible the energy of this weekend with more that 50 delegates from Iberoamerica and the US, representing our region at IC. The messages were clear, where are we now? Where do we want to go? and How do we get there?.

We had a lot of hard reflections, setting goals and commitments as well. SSGN has the culture to get excited with the challenges, but to make it real on the ground is kind of difficult because you have to keep the motivation to do it. I think we did a great job during pre meeting but we're gonna need more than that ahead.

IC is going well... I'm gonna be supporting some sessions, but also my work continues and I need some meetings with every single country and then when the partners arrive...

On the other hand, I'm extremely happy!!!! The Colombian delegation is huge! we're almost 25 and we're putting the energy here!. It is amazing to see Pipe, Serge, Ligis, Lore, Patry, Nazly, Luchi, Paula, Blanquis, Juli, Sebas, Betsy, Morales, Santi, Naty, Kiko, Ivancho, Bee, Sarah.. my sis. I feel like in a national conference, this feels DEMASIADO BIEN!! :D

I'm an AIESECer!

"After her studies in journalism were finished, Alejandra decided she wanted to put her skills to practice and applied for an internship in an NGO in Brazil, which supports homeless people (children and adults) through communication projects, creating newspapers and communication channels made by and for them.

Alejandra was in charge of supporting workshops for the homeless about how to write their own stories, basic photography and reporting the daily experiences of the people at risk from Porto Alegre.

The opportunity to work in Brazil allowed Alejandra to learn Portuguese in just a few months, learn about the social reality of the homeless in Brazil and gain professional skills that will help her in her future.

I’ve learnt that there are a ton of opportunities to make the world, not only my country, a better place to live in, working for you to become a better person each day, helping others, to give value to the things you have and others don’t.” she said.

After her internship, Alejandra wanted to enable more people to have a similar international experience, and she returned to work for AIESEC in Colombia to make that possible. In charge of 15 local offices across ten cities in Colombia, Alejandra had the opportunity to share her story and encourage more people to take on a similar opportunity.

Her passion to make a positive impact on the world continues today as Alejandra works as the Regional Coordinator of the Social Entrepreneurship Program for AIESEC across Ibero America and the United States. Her passion is to increase the opportunities for more young people to live an international experience in the third sector, just as she did.

Alejandra’s story is just one of 23,000 lived each year by members across AIESEC’s 100-country network. Alejandra is a student just like you. Would you like to live a similar story?

1 month

I arrived to The Netherlands on July, to start my new international adventure in Europe. One year back I was in Poland and I remembered that I promised me come here again.

Well, I'm here, almost finalizing my days in Rotterdam...

-I'm thankful with the life to give me this chance to be here, living, breathing, sleeping, working in other culture pretty different than mine.

-I'm happy to be working in the AIESEC International office, working with ppl from 22 different nationalities. My team is in charge of the development plan for the region of Iberoamerica and the US. I have discovered many things that make me feel challenged.

-I'm excited, in 1 week, we're gonna have our AIESEC International Congress in Istambul, Turkey, where more than 600 delegates from more than 100 countries will be gathered. And I'm charge of some parts of that monumental conference! :S

I'm gonna miss these places that have been my temporary space in the path of my life...
